Psychotherapist in Frankfurt
My name is Tobias Szuwart. As a licensed psychotherapist for children, adolescents and young adults, I have my own practice in Frankfurt’s Nordend district. The practice has existed since the beginning of 2018.
Training as a psychotherapist for children, adolescents and young adults
I studied depth psychology and trained as a child and adolescent psychotherapist (KJP) and group therapist at the Wiesbaden Academy for Psychotherapy (WiAP).
I gained my practical experience in the WiAP’s outpatient clinic with Dr. Peseschkian and in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Aschaffenburg Clinic with head physician Dr. Kacic. In addition, I contributed as a practitioner to efficacy studies on depth psychology-based child psychotherapy. They were led by Prof. Dr. Traxl from the University of Mainz and the Medical School Berlin and supervised by the German Psychoanalytical Society.
Social pedagogy, child and youth welfare …
Before that, I worked for over 10 years as a qualified social pedagogue in psychosocial work in Frankfurt am Main. Important stations were the penal system, social and community psychiatry, addiction support, municipal debt counseling and work for the youth welfare office in Frankfurt am Main.
Orientation as a child and adolescent psychotherapist
I also have various advanced training courses and specializations in psychoanalytical, systemic and alternative therapy methods as well as various methods for personal development.
Activities outside the therapeutic practice
My skills in the areas of communication, counseling and crisis intervention have been used for management and personnel training in medium-sized companies and various public agencies such as the Hessian Ministry of Justice for interface management, organizational and structural development. On the topics of the world of work and careers, I have the reference book „Atypical employment relationships: Mini-Jobs, Ich-AG, Temporary Work, Combined Wages and Part-Time Work in Germany”.
Admission as a contract psychotherapist
I am registered as a contract psychotherapist with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (kassenärztlichen Vereinigung). This entitles me to bill all private health insurers and statutory health insurers. I am also a member of the Hessian Chamber of Psychotherapists and the German Association of Psychotherapists. I now also have a license as a non-medical practitioner in order to improve the billing options for adult patients.
